The roofs we work on
Flat and low-slope
Most commercial roofs in New Orleans are flat or nearly flat. We repair and replace them with torch-down modified bitumen, fix ponding and drainage, and re-flash parapet walls and rooftop units. See flat roofs.
Metal
Standing seam and R-panel for shops, warehouses, carports and storefront awnings, made by Corrugated Industries in Chalmette. See metal roofing.
Shingle
Pitched shingle roofs on multi-family, mixed-use and office buildings, with Owens Corning shingles and the same crew that does our residential roofs.
Coatings and maintenance
Reflective coatings, seam repairs and scheduled check-ups that keep an aging commercial roof watertight until the budget allows a replacement.
Repair, coat or re-roof?
A commercial roof is a line item, so we treat it like one. After the inspection you get photos of what we found and an itemized estimate that compares a repair, a coating or a full re-roof where more than one makes sense, with the cost of each.
If a section of the roof can be repaired for a few more years of service, we say so. If the deck is soft or the membrane has failed across the roof, patching it again only moves the leak, and we explain why.
Common problems on New Orleans commercial roofs
- Standing water that never drains after heavy rain
- Leaks at parapet walls, HVAC curbs and pipe penetrations
- Blistered or cracked membrane from summer heat
- Clogged scuppers and undersized downspouts
- Storm damage to flashing and edge metal
Working around your business
We schedule around your open hours, keep the work area and parking clear, and haul off debris the same day. Tenants and customers stay dry and out of the way.
Commercial roofing questions
What size commercial buildings do you work on?
Small and mid-size buildings: shops, offices, restaurants, churches, warehouses and multi-family properties. We do not take on high-rise or large industrial roofs.
Can you work while my business is open?
Usually, yes. We plan the noisy and messy work around your hours and keep entrances clear.
Do you provide proof of insurance?
Yes. We are licensed in Louisiana (RL.06324) and insured, and we send certificates of insurance on request.
How fast can you get to a commercial leak?
Often the same or next day. Call (504) 810-4691 and tell us it is a business so we can plan the visit around your hours.
Do you offer maintenance?
Yes. A yearly or pre-hurricane-season check of drains, flashing and seams is the cheapest way to make a commercial roof last.
